The TPS2372 contains all of the features needed toimplement an IEEE802.3at or IEEE802.3bt (draft)(Type 1-4) powered device (PD). The low internalswitch resistance allows the TPS2372-4 andTPS2372-3 to support high power applications up to90 W and 60 W respectively. Assuming 100-meterCAT5 cable, this translates into 71.3 W and 51 W atPD input.

The TPS2372 operates with enhanced features.The Automatic MPS function enables applicationsrequiring very low power standby modes. TheTPS2372 automatically generates the necessarypulsed current to maintain the PSE power. Anexternal resistor is used to enable this functionalityand to program the MPS pulsed current amplitude.

The TPS2372 also implements a delay function toallow the remote PSE to complete its inrush phasebefore releasing the Power Good (PG) output. Thisensures that the IEEE802.3bt (draft) startuprequirements are met.

The Autoclass enable input also allows advancedsystem power optimization modes compliant withIEEE802.3bt (draft) standard.

评估板TPS2372-3EVM-757

This user’s guide describes the TPS2372-3 evaluation module (TPS2372-3EVM-757). The TPS2372- 3EVM-757 contains evaluation and reference circuitry for the TPS2372-3. The TPS2372-3 device is an IEEE 802.3bt (draft) compliant, powered-device (PD) controller optimized for non-isolated converter topologies and converter modules. The TPS2372-3EVM-757 is designed for 60-W PoE lighting solutions.

The TPS2372 evaluation module (TPS2372-4EVM-006) contains evaluation and reference circuitry for the TPS2372, which is a IEEE802.3bt PoE PD controller suitable for high power PoE PD applications such as LED lighting and modules.
